Happy 100th Birthday Arizona

YOU ARE INVITED
TO THE 100TH BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION OF
THE STATE OF ARIZONA

Tuesday, February 14, 2012
 Arizona Statehood Day Expo 2012

Mary L. Holden and I collaborated on a Minibuk, "Yavapai" which we introduced at the 26th Annual National Hispanic Women's Conference in Phoenix, Arizona on October 6 & 7th, 2011.

Mary presented "Yavapai" to the Arizona Centennial Commission, and the Arizona Historical Advisory Commission, and they have officially approved of our book.

We have been invited to showcase our accomplishments, and have taken a Booth for Statehood Day, February 14, 2012, set up on the House and Senate Lawns at the Capitol Complex.

Mary and I are both Arizona natives and I was born in Prescott, thus the inspiration for the title, "Yavapai."

There will be many wonderful activities on the 14th. The Happy Birthday Arizona Celebration begins at 9am and the USPS First Day Issue Celebration will be on the Main Stage. Performances, birthday cake, legislative events and many other exciting activities will be available to guests.

We look forward to seeing you!

ps:  We will keep you posted regarding our location and the details of the day.

January ~ Painting and Poetry Project

We hope you are enjoying our monthly project.  Our gift to you.

"All Things New"

"Silver and Gold"
by C. L. Gillmore

Shepherd in the new, usher out the old
One shines silver, the other glows gold.

Seasons once passed at a gentle pace,
But soon rush by like a downhill race.
The dreams and schemes of yesterday
Trail on the wind as legacy.

Oh, bittersweet days of lost Decembers,
Moments we begged never to remember
The faces and places of what was to be.
Now pray to recall each memory.

Spring stirs beneath winter's gray covers,
Hope awakens summer and quietly hovers.
The tears and fears from every sorrow
Strengthens us now so others may borrow.

Shepherd in the new, usher out the old
One shines silver, the other glows gold.

Poetry and Painting.

I am jumping out of my holiday red pjs to introduce you to the exciting collaboration news with my friend and award-winning author C.L. Gillmore.

Since I believe that art and literature will save the world... I thought it imperative to inspire you each month with a new poem from
C.L. Gillmore, and my latest painting.

This is our gift to you.

Wishing abundant blessings, and a safe holiday to you, and yours.

Happy Holidays!

"The Red Diary"

I was given the above original photograph of Marilyn Monroe as a gift from her photographer, David Conover.

It inspired me to paint this painting which I have titled   "The Red Diary."

This is only a portion of the entire painting.
