April ~ Painting and Poetry Project

We hope you are enjoying our monthly presentation, our gift to you.
"Beloved Most Imagine "

by Kathryn Henneman
48x60 mixed media on canvas

"Beautiful, Bell-Bottomed Boy"

Shirtless, bronzed, bell-bottomed boy,
Beautiful, young and lean.
Soft, silken, coffee-brown hair,
Wind-swept, wild and free.

Graceful, fluid, out-stretched arms,
Expressive, gentle hands.
Lovely, curved, sensuous hips
Legs strong, slender and tan.

Rocked by the gods of music and freedom,
Swaying in rhythmic jubilation,
High on life and love's sweet passion,
He danced for her in celebration.

One girl alone was hypnotized.
Her vision spanned over crowd faces
To link with his piercing blue eyes
And to put her own feet in his paces.

Gone are the days of the young summer sultan
And the girl who watched him with joy.
He dances forever within her heart
Beautiful, bell-bottomed boy.

The Intuition Project

'Where does your inspiration come from, Kathryn Henneman?'   This question I am asked quite often.

Each time, the answer is different for me.  Maybe the
inspiration is really coming through as an 'intuition'.
So, I was quite delighted when I collaborated with
Julianna Lyddon for her new book in the works, 'The Intuition Project .

I do know that when I am asked to do a special
'commission' for a client I take in consideration so
many factors, and feelings regarding the client,
the location, the size of the canvas, the colors I choose.
All of these components play in my creative process.

The painting titled, 'First Intuition'  really conveys my
own message of how I receive my intuitive message to
create something very unique and very custom for my
clients.  I wanted an image that someone could hold
as in a book, and be holding a small masterpiece of my
work.  I am delighted to have created this for Julianna Lyddon.

"Third Generation"
by Kathryn Henneman

"Remembrance"
by C.L. Gillmore

Alone.
I wait for them
Beginning in quiet,
Drifting along, silent
Through dappled streams of sunlight
Hovering along the surface of remembrance
Translucent visions from the past
Linking across, still
Ending in whispers,
They wait for me
Alone.

London Darling

"London Darling"
by ~ Kathryn Henneman

4 ft x 4 ft.
mixed media on canvas

Is London gray?  No, it is 'London Darling'

As the light of day fades, colors grow grayer and grayer.
If every source of light disappeared from the world, colors
would disappear too and the world would become black.
For light is the source of color, and all the colors exist in
the light which radiates from the sun or from any luminous
body. It is through the decomposition or breaking up of this
light that the colors which reside in it are discovered.

I hope you, too, have discovered London, and find in this
painting, my 'London Darling'

Realizing the Dream

"Still Realizing the Dream" -- All moving around in my
head - can be a lot at times!!!

There are explosions of thoughts and creativity, it overcomes
my whole body/mind system. My Stop, Pause, Go button is
engaged in my head. My creative endeavors are always
working -- it doesn't ever stop. It's ON switch is stuck ON.

Private commissions need completion, and my upcoming
October 4, 2012 exhibition with Northern Trust Bank, Phoenix, Arizona
is uppermost in my mind. The title  for this show is "Diary."

Just letting the new works flow, like reading chapters of a novel.

Thought Revolution

"Everything starts as in an unknown adventure"
Thought Revolution helped me to recognize what's
coming through. Pushing through the ego and transformed
into the intuitive/creative realm of myself. Explosions of
thoughts and creativity flow more easily with acceptance.
Thank you Bill for this great tool to work differently.
Personal revelations into revolutions.

"The Dance"
by CL Gillmore

A tentative waltz—sway, rise and fall.
Forward, side, back—a reflective recall.
Letters and words now carefully framed.
Each thought rehearsed again and again.
No turn or nod is left up to chance.
Steps have become a well-practiced dance.
Cues and timing both cautiously guarded.
The familiar rhythm lost and discarded.
Each dancer wary of crossing that line.
A closed position of mutual resign.

How far the distance traveled in a beat?
A tentative waltz left incomplete.

Arizona's Birthday Celebration on Valentine's Day!

YOU ARE INVITED
TO THE 100TH BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION OF
THE STATE OF ARIZONA

Tuesday, February 14, 2012
 Arizona Statehood Day Expo 2012

Mary L. Holden and I collaborated on a Minibuk, "Yavapai" which we introduced at the 26th Annual National Hispanic Women's Conference in Phoenix, Arizona on October 6 & 7th, 2011.  It has been reprinted for this special celebration,  see above!

Mary presented "Yavapai" to the Arizona Centennial Commission, and the Arizona Historical Advisory Commission, and they have officially approved of our book.

We have been invited to showcase our accomplishments, and have taken a Booth for Statehood Day, February 14, 2012, set up on the House and Senate Lawns at the Capitol Complex.

Mary and I are both Arizona natives and I was born in Prescott, thus the inspiration for the title, "Yavapai."

There will be many wonderful activities on the 14th. The Happy Birthday Arizona Celebration begins at 9am and the USPS First Day Issue Celebration will be on the Main Stage. Performances, birthday cake, legislative events and many other exciting activities will be available to guests.

We look forward to seeing you!
